Tanyresgair Cottages provide an ideal base for many walking, cycling and wildlife-watching experiences; as well as being conveniently located to enjoy all the tourism opportunities that Ceredigion, Cardigan Bay and the Cambrian Mountains have to offer.

Walking/Hiking
- Walk sections of the coastal path for stunning views of Cardigan Bay
- Many other walks at Hafod Estate, Devil’s Bridge, Cors Caron
- Walk from your cottage across the adjacent moorland to a remote upland lake and a viewpoint where you can see the entire Cardigan Bay and Mt. Snowden
- Nearby Tregaron is a Walkers are Welcome town
Cycling/Mountain-biking
- 2 route marked cycle trails – Ystwyth Trail, Rheidol Trail start in Aberystwyth
- MTB trails at Nant-yr-Arian forest

Wildlife/Bird-Watching
- Take a dolphin watching boat trip from New Quay
- Watch mass red-kite feeding at Nant-yr-Arian
- Visit nearby nature reserves for excellent bird-watching:
- Ynyslas nature reserve (Borth)
- RSPB Ynys Hir (Machynlleth) – featured in Springwatch
- Welsh Wildlife Centre (Cardigan)
- Cors Caron nature reserve (Tregaron)

Tourism:
- Take the Vale of Rheidol steam railway to Devil’s Bridge waterfalls
- Visit Llanerchaeron National Trust property and gardens
- Drive into the wild and unpopulated Cambrian Mountains to the Elan Valley reservoirs and the mystical Llyn Brianne lake
- Take the funicular railway to the top of Constitution Hill in Aberystwyth
- Go back in time to the quaint fishing villages of Aberaeron and New Quay
- Visit the beautiful beaches at Mwnt and Llangranog
- Wander around the Farmers’ Market in Aberystwyth and buy some Welsh specialties like cheeses, lamb and craft beer or cider

There are also opportunities for angling, horse riding, golf and water-sports.
The Wales Way:
The Wales Way is a series of three touring routes: The North Wales Way, The Coastal Way & The Cambrian Way, which can be combined to make a Grand Tour of Wales.
Tanyresgair Cottages is situated between The Coastal Way and The Cambrian Way and would be an ideal stop-over for anyone planning a touring holiday based around the Wales Way. Especially if you only have time to do half the country - for either the northern half or the southern half, we are the halfway stop on your tour.
Further afield:
Its quite possible to take a day-trip to North Wales, Pembrokeshire or South Wales. So for instance you could visit Mt. Snowden, Betwys-y-Coed, Barmouth, Portmeirion, St. Davids, Fishguard, Carmarthen, Brecon Beacons, Builth Wells or the National Botanic Gardens of Wales.
